Job Description:

As a Funeral Vehicle Spray Painter/Paint Technician, your role will be crucial in ensuring that our funeral vehicles are finished to the highest standards of quality and aesthetics. You will be responsible for the following key tasks:

  • Examining and cleaning vehicle bodywork, discussing refinishing requirements with the production team, and determining the necessary steps to achieve the desired finish.
  • Preparing surfaces for painting by meticulously cleaning, buffing, polishing, and masking the areas that should not be painted.
  • Utilizing computerized paint mixing technology to accurately match the specified colours and mixing paints accordingly.
  • Applying paint using spray machines or handheld spray guns, ensuring a flawless and professional finish.
  • Performing necessary touch-ups and refinements to achieve the desired appearance and consistency.
  • Estimating costs for paint and materials required for each vehicle and maintaining accurate records of usage.
  • Keeping up to date with industry advancements in paint products, techniques, and safety protocols.
  • Completing all relevant paperwork associated with your job duties, including documentation of work performed and materials used.
  • Hours are Mon – Thurs, 6.30am – 4.45pm

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Spray Painter/Paint Technician/Paint shop Prepper in the automotive or vehicle manufacturing industry.
  • In-depth knowledge and skill set of paint application techniques, body filler, surface preparation, and refinishing processes.
  • Proficiency in using computerized paint mixing technology to achieve precise colour matching.
  • Excellent attention to detail and colour perception skills.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently, while also collaborating effectively with the production team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to meet production deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented approach.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment

Job Type: Full-Time 

Salary: From £26,000.00 per year

Benefits: Company pension

Ability to commute/relocate: Wigan: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience: Spray Painter/Paint Technician/Paint shop Prepper: 2 years (required)
