Job Description:
As a Vehicle Trim Fitter, your role will be vital in ensuring that our vehicles meet the highest standards of craftsmanship and quality. Following our company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing hand-built hearses and limousines, your key responsibilities will include:
- Fitting trim items and panels to the interior and exterior of vehicles, including fabricating and cutting parts to ensure a precise fit.
- Removing and refitting windscreens, as well as fitting custom-manufactured glass into the vehicles.
- Inspecting the completed work and conducting water testing to detect any potential water leaks in the body and glass.
- Collaborating with the production team to ensure that the trim installation aligns with the overall design and customer requirements.
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, properly storing materials and tools.
- Hours are Mon – Thurs, 6.30am – 4.45pm
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Trim Fitter or similar role, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industry. We will consider applicants without previous automotive experience.
- Solid knowledge of trim installation techniques, materials, and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret design specifications and measurements accurately.
- Proficiency in cutting and shaping materials to achieve precise fits.
- Experience in removing and refitting windscreens and working with custom-manufactured glass is preferred.
- Attention to detail and a strong eye for precision and aesthetics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Effective time management skills to meet production deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
